Silver Fork Trail DescriptionSilver Fork Trail

The Silver Fork Trail is a beautiful hike in the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest. This out-and-back hike is moderately challenging with a decent incline. Although this trail may be short, proper hiking footwear is necessary, and we recommend bringing along lots of water, especially if you are hiking at the peak of summer. This trail is not dog-friendly, nor are any of the trails in Big Cottonwood Canyon, as this area is part of a watershed. However, the Silver Fork Trail is a fantastic place to spot forest wildlife such as deer, moose, and songbirds.

From the trailhead, follow the path south along the west bank of the Silver Fork. Check out the remains of the old Alta Tunnel Mine at the trail’s end before turning around and following your footsteps back out to the trailhead.

If you are looking for more to explore in the area, check out the Honeycomb Cliffs Trail nearby.
