Neffs Canyon Trail Description
Neffs Canyon Trail is a challenging route for experienced hikers. This trail is consistently steep the whole way up so hikers should arrive ready for a workout. Be sure to bring more water than you think you’ll need on this trail as it will test your endurance. We recommend bringing along hiking poles to aid your ascent and save your knees some strain on the way back down. Neffs Canyon Trail is dog-friendly, however, dogs must be kept on leash at all times. Please keep in mind that this trail is a strenuous route that may not be appropriate for all pups.
If you do have an adventure pup, we promise that they’ll love this trail and so will you! The views along Neffs Canyon Trail are absolutely stunning. Wildflowers take over the area in the summertime and color the path with reds, purples, yellows, and the most intoxicatingly wonderful scent. In autumn, this trail once again delivers so much beauty as the surrounding forest bursts forth with the colors of fall.
From Neffs Trailhead, follow the path for half a mile to a divide, stay left here and head east. Continue along Neffs Canyon for 2.6mi to a divide then take a right to Neffs Spring. From Neffs Spring, follow Wildcat Ridge for approximately 0.5mi to a viewpoint before turning around and following the same route back to the trailhead.
If you are looking for a less strenuous hike in the area, check out Neffs Canyon Loop.
