Lower Bell Canyon Reservoir via Larry’s Trail Description

The hike to Lower Bell Canyon Reservoir via Larry’s Trail is a great way to spend a morning surrounded by the beauty of nature. The trail up to the reservoir is rocky and loose in some sections, so proper hiking footwear is strongly recommended. It is more than likely that you will encounter forest wildlife such as ducks, songbirds, and chipmunks along this trail. Over the years, these animals have become accustomed to humans and will ask for your snacks, but please do not feed the animals and make sure to give them lots of space. Though the water may be tempting, swimming in the Lower Bell Canyon Reservoir is not permitted due to the fact that the reservoir is located in a watershed. Overall, this trail is a gorgeous path through the forest just outside of town, offering a great way to stretch your legs and get some fresh air with the whole family.

From the Bells Canyon Trailhead, follow the path south up the switchbacks to the reservoir. Take a lap around the reservoir before heading back down the way you came.
