Bells Canyon Trail to Ridgeline Description

The Bells Canyon Trail to Ridgeline is a beautiful, moderately challenging hike in the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest. This trail is rugged and overgrown in some sections and surprisingly steep in others, most-notably the second half. A good pair of hiking shoes, long pants, and an adventurous spirit go a long way on this hike. The views from this trail are gorgeous, particularly at sunset. If you are up for the challenge, this trail can be a whole lot of fun!

From the trailhead, follow the switchbacks south and keep an eye out for a trail branching off to your left. Take that path and head east along the ridgeline. From the ridge you will get a great view of the Lower Bell Canyon Reservoir and the Lone Peak Wilderness Area.

Continue along the ridge until the path becomes impassible, at this point, turn around and follow your footsteps back to the trailhead.

If you want to check out the reservoir close up, you can take the Lower Bell’s Canyon Reservoir via Larry’s Trail down to the water’s edge.
