North Deer Mountain Hike

The North Deer Mountain Trail is a charming adventure along the ridge of Deer Mountain. This versatile trail can be enjoyed by outdoor enthusiasts of all types, year-round. Whether you want to walk, horse ride, snowshoe or run, you can! This scenic hike will guide you through meadows and beneath the shade of vibrant aspen trees. Note that visitors are required to purchase a Rocky Mountain Park pass to utilize the trails.

Begin your adventure from the trailhead and head southwest along the trail. At the first trailhead, veer left, and the path will guide you beneath the treeline. Hike along the path, and you will eventually meet another junction. Keep left and the next two intersections, and hike along the ridge. Enjoy sights of snow-capped summits peeking through the tree breaks. Continue along the forested path, and you will meet the trail’s end when the route opens into a meadow.

If you still have some gas left in the tank then you can continue along the path, but if not, simply retrace your footing along the path back to the trailhead.
