Beaver Mountain Trail Description

This stunning route reveals some of our favorite sights in the Rocky Mountain National Park. Hike through luxuriant meadows amongst grazing elk, through towering pine trees, along a babbling brook all while enjoying expansive alpine vistas. The limited elevation change and easy-to-navigate terrain makes it a perfect adventure for novice hikers and children alike. Note that a Rocky Mountain Park pass is required to access the network of trails.

Embark on your journey along the Beaver Mountain Hike from the Beaver Brook Trailhead. From the trailhead, take the rightmost trail along the curves of the Beaver Brook. Eventually, you will encounter an intersection. Turn left here. Hike along the increasingly wooded terrain, intersecting with the brook before revealing sights of Longs Peak in the distance. The trail will weave you between tree coverage and vast meadows to another junction. At this point, you will want to take a sharp left turn.

Hike along the ridge, noticing sights of Beaver Mountain in the east, towering above. Hike beneath the treeline, and the trail will eventually guide you through an open meadow back to the trailhead.
