Copeland Falls to Calypso Cascades Hike Description

The Copeland Falls to Calypso Cascades is an epic nature walk. Hike to not one, not two, but four alpine waterfalls! Hike through a verdant mixed pine and aspen forested valley to the cascades. We love a good waterfall hike and the Copeland Falls to Calypso Cascades Trail exceeds our expectations. Located within the Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP), visitors are required to purchase a park pass to venture the trails.

Begin your adventure along the Copeland Falls to Calypso Cascades Trail from the Wild Basin trailhead. From here, track southwest over Hunters Creek along the Wild Basin Trail. Soon after your departure, you will notice Copeland Falls on your left. Continue hiking up the trail and at the junction, veer left on the Copeland Falls Side Trail. This path will grant you an up close and personal view of Lower and Upper Copeland Falls. If you are keeping track, that is three waterfalls already. Enjoy the mesmerising sights of the cascading falls before merging back onto the Wild Basin Trail.

Hike the path alongside the North Saint Vrain Creek and below tree shade. Eventually, you will meet the junction at the Pine Ridge dispersed campsites. At this point, veer left, and you will be diverted up to the Calypso Cascades. Revel in the grandeur of the falls from the footbridge and enjoy the relaxing ambiance of the running water. Take a break and enjoy the falls before retracing your steps back along the path to the trailhead.
