Calypso Cascades via Allenspark Hike Description

Reconnect with nature as you hike the Calypso Cascades via Allenspark Trail. Immerse yourself in the verdant Colorado woodlands and enjoy dumbfounding sights of Tanima Peak peeking between the tree breaks. This wonderfully scenic adventure is a great alternative to the Wild Basin Trail access trail as it is much less trafficked and more rustic. Located within the boundary of the Rocky Mountain National Park, adventurers are required to purchase a park pass. Note there is no parking lot at the Allenspark Trailhead, so hikers will need to park alongside the road.

Depart on your adventure up the Calypso Cascades via Allenspark Trail from the Allenspark Trailhead. From here, the Allenspark Trail tracks northwest through the woodlands. Hike beneath the towering pines and aspens, letting the fresh mountain air fill your lungs. Trek the mildly undulating path to an intersection with the Finch Lake Cutoff Trail. Here, stay straight and you will be diverted onto the Finch Lake/Pear Lake Trail. Eventually, you will be delivered to the Calypso Cascades.

Enjoy the stunning Calypso Cascades from the footbridge. Explore the boulders that line the cascades and notice Tanima Peak in the west. When you are rested and rehydrated, retrace your steps back to the trailhead.
