Boulder Brook Loop Trail Description

The Boulder Brook Loop Trail will guide its adventurers through the stunning scenery of the Rocky Mountain National Park. Hike through alpine tundras, beneath aspen groves, past waterfalls and along streams. As you trek this trail, you will be rewarded with dumbfounding sights of the park’s highest summit, Longs Peak. Wear layers as the path weaves between tree shade and exposed terrain. As the hike is located within the Rocky Mountain National Park, a park pass is required to utilize the trails.

Embark on your adventure along the Boulder Brook Trail from the Storms Pass Trailhead. From here, track the Storm Pass Trail over Glacier Creek and at the first intersection, merge onto the Boulder Brook Trail. Hike up the valley along Boulder Brook into a vast meadow that reveals uninterrupted vistas of Longs Peak. Pass the dispersed campsites and at the junction, veer right onto the North Longs Peak Trail. Trek northwest along the path, through the pine trees and over Glacier Creek. At this intersection, turn right, and you will be diverted onto the Glacier Gorge Trail.

Trek the route to Alberta Falls. This section of the hike will likely be highly trafficked. At the Glacier Gorge junction, turn right and hike the Glacier Creek Trail back to Boulder Brook. At this point, turn left and retrace your steps along the Storms Pass Trail back to the trailhead, marking the end of your adventure.
