The Hepple Circuit Walk Description

Although the Hepple Circuit Walk doesn’t necessarily take the road less travelled, it does still offer the chance to explore the beautifully scenic landscape of the Northumberland countryside. Make sure to wear comfortable walking shoes, as you will be trekking along paved surfaces for the duration of the walk.

Setting out from the trailhead, you will make your way to the southeast to leave the village of Harbottle and its historic castle behind, eventually crossing over the River Coquet. From here, you will continue on to the southeast along Greenside Bank, enjoying the pleasant views of the surrounding farmland as you make your way into the village of Flotterton.

Turning to the southwest along B6341, you will pass through the village of Hepple and once again cross over the waters of the River Coquet. Shortly after crossing the river, you will turn to the right and begin making your way to the northwest, roughly following alongside the winding banks of the river as you pass through the river valley. Eventually, you will arrive back in the village of Harbottle, where you can stop in at The Star Inn for a quick post-walk drink before heading home.
