College Valley Walk Description

Regardless of whether you are completing this trail for the landscape views or to spot some local wildlife, the College Valley Walk is an amazing route that will showcase the beauty of Northumberland. Due to the wildlife in the area (especially the wild Cheviot Gotas) walkers should remember to keep their dog on a lead at all times to avoid any potentially dangerous interactions.

Setting out from the car park, you will make your way to the southwest along the road, enjoying the lovely views of the surrounding valley landscape as you continue on toward Cuddystone Hall. Here, the road will branch off to the left and lead you to a crossing over the waters of College Burn.

After crossing over the bridge, you will make your way back to the northeast alongside the opposite bank of the stream, enjoying some more views of the surrounding valley as you go. Keep your eyes peeled in order to spot some wild goats, as they often roam the hills in the part of Northumberland. Shortly after passing by Hethpool Mill, you will cross over College Burn once more and arrive in Hethpool, where you will turn left along the road to return to the car park.
