The Bear and Beaver Trail Loop is a perfect half-day hike that passes through Lynn Canyon and hits all the major highlights of the park. Cross over the swaying expanse of the Lynn Valley Suspension Bridge, take in the sights of Twin Falls, and stop for a quick swim in the pristine waters of 30 Foot Pool. This short hike has a lot packed into its 2.7mi kilometers.

Getting there

To reach the Bear and Beaver Loop trailhead from the Upper Levels Highway, take the exit for Lynn Valley Road and head north. After 1.9mi turn left onto Dempsey Road, making another left in 492ft to enter the parking lot at Kilmer Park. Park your car and walk back along Dempsey Road to the intersection with Lynn Valley Road, where the trailhead will be directly across the street.

Bear and Beaver Trail Loop Description

The Bear and Beaver Trail Loop is a short route that makes its way through Lynn Canyon Park and passes by the many highlights of the area, including Twin Falls, 30 Foot Pool, and the Lynn Valley Suspension Bridge. It’s best to arrive early to beat the crowds or try this hike on an off-peak day.

From the trailhead on Lynn Valley Road, make your way into the forest as the trail heads south into Lynn Canyon and passes by the Lynn Valley Suspension Bridge and the Lynn Canyon Ecology Centre. Follow the trail as it loops north alongside the creek and crosses over it at Twin Falls. Continue on the eastern bank of the creek, passing by the serene 30 Foot Pool and over the Pipeline Bridge to return to the trailhead.
