The hike to Deer Creek Camp on Eastside trail is a beautiful one, flanked by a peak on either side and following along a babbling creek. The trail begins above Upper Tipsoo Lake, where you’ll take the Eastside Trail to wind around the road, cross Chinook Creek, and then follow the creek into the forest.

You’ll cross Mather Memorial Parkway one more time before heading along the creek into the valley between Seymour and Buell peaks. There is some moderate elevation gain to contend with on this hike, but the trail climbs mostly gradually as you approach Deer Creek Camp. If you’re hiking this as an out and back, simply retrace your steps to Tipsoo.
