Smithbrook Trail Description

Smithbrook Trail is a fairly quick hike through a scenic forest. This well-signed trail is moderate in difficulty and can be hiked as a shorter route or you can connect to other nearby trails to extend your trip.

Begin from the parking area, heading west alongside the road to where it curves and the trail begins to switchback. Most of the elevation gain happens in the first half of the hike, so make your way through the turns and savour the peace of the forest.

The trail straightens out as it approaches its endpoint near Union Gap at a junction with the PCT. Either retrace your steps from here back to the trailhead or you can take the PCT to extend your trip. Lake Janus is down the right arm, and it doesn’t take too much elevation gain to get there.
