Round Mountain Trail Description
Round Mountain Trail is a moderate hike with lighter traffic than most that offers worthwhile views, especially on clear days. The elevation gain is consistent and gradual, and there is a spur trail on the summit to a viewpoint that is photo-worthy.
The trail begins from the end of the road, where you’ll take Round Mountain Trail, which is the middle of the three trails departing from the end of the road. Follow this through the trees, gaining consistent moderate elevation. The only junction is with a spur trail to your left at about 1510 meters.
Climb a few switchbacks to the summit. While the view here is nice, it’s worth taking the spur trail to your right for a completely unobstructed view of Mount Rainier. When you’re ready, return the same way you came.
