Quartz Creek Hike Description

Quartz Creek is a very challenging hike to complete due to the overgrown, difficult-to-locate trail. Many users report losing the trail and being unable to complete the hike. If you’re going to attempt this adventure, make sure you have a reliable GPS route to help guide you.

The hike begins from the end of the forest road north of Middle Fork Campground. The views near Taylor River at the start are some of the best most hikers will find unless they make it to the viewpoint. Hike up to a junction where you’ll stay left. The trail then heads roughly northwest alongside Quartz Creek.

At about 1936ft, the trail splits off to the right and begins to switchback. Gain more aggressive elevation as you near the end of Quartz Creek, which marks the end of the trail. Retrace your steps to return to the trailhead.
