Kendall Peak Lakes Trail Description

The hike to the Kendall Peak Lakes is a wonderful moderate adventure—not too long, not too difficult, no technical sections, and pleasant views throughout. This is also a popular trail for snowshoers in the area.

The hike begins from the Gold Creek Sno-Park parking lot, heading across the creek up an old logging road. You’ll follow this road up a steady grade to a T-intersection, where you’ll take a sharp right.

The trail winds up the hill before straightening out over a gradual traverse. At the next junction, keep slightly right. The trail takes a hairpin turn near Coal Creek. At the bottom of the next turn, stay left to turn back north.

Ascending to the first lake, you’ll walk around the left side to the second lake. The trail ends here. Enjoy Kendall Peak overhead and the calm lakes before heading back via the same trail.

Some hikers report bear sightings near the lakes, so exercise bear awareness as you enjoy the area.
