Greenwater Lakes Trail Description

With everything that a little walk in the woods could offer, the Greenwater Lakes Trail is a pleasant outing for hikers of most ages and ability levels. Hiking to two lakes, you’ll enjoy the forest in all its glory on the way. Note that the signage isn’t great, so you may want to download the route ahead of time. Give horses the right of way on this trail.

Begins from the parking area, heading south on the Greenwater Lakes Trail. Hiking alongside Meadow Creek, enjoy the vibrant forest on a mostly flat trail.

All the log bridges except one are in good condition. The bridge over the Meadow Creek 2.5mi from the trailhead (at the southeast end of the lakes) was washed away several years ago and hasn’t been replaced. There is a primitive rope set up that you can try to cross with. If you don’t want to cross here, there is a horse crossing that you can use, but you will have to wade. If wading isn’t in the cards, don’t worry, this is essentially the end of the trail and you won’t miss too much by skipping it.

Turn around and retrace your steps to the parking area once you’re ready.
