Strawberry Lake Hike Description
If you adventure to the Strawberry Lake Trail on your next excursion, you will want to bring your camera. This epic hike offers a stroll through lush forests, past babbling brooks and through meadows dotted with wildflowers all prior to your arrival at the piece de resistance—Strawberry Lake. Encircled by fen, a type of peat-accumulating wetland, Strawberry Lake is lively and flourishing. These wetlands are fragile though, so please respect the signage protecting this environmental commodity.
Strawberry Lake Hike departs directly from Country Road 6, on the Strawberry Lake Trail. The initial segment of this hike might be daunting as it packs a lot of elevation gain, but it will plateau after the first few kilometers and becomes more gradual. After a steep climb, the trail will begin a small descent over a creek. This wooded section of this hike has some downed trees, exercise caution when navigating these. Follow along the trail, intersecting with beautiful mountain streams before encountering a junction. At this point stay left. Continuing along, you will meander through a verdant meadow before arriving at Strawberry Lake.
After exploring the lake and surrounding wetlands, turn around and retrace your steps. At the junction be sure to stay right down Strawberry Lake Trail. Follow along the trail until you reach the car park.
