Hidden Meadow Trail is a short, unique trail that tells the story of a wildfire that burned through the trail 25 years ago. The trees that were affected can be seen sticking straight up in the air, with new, prosperous green trees growing beneath them. The trail takes you to a clearing with a large pond, which is a nice place to sit and have a snack and take a look around to see if any wildlife are nearby.
Getting there
To get to Hidden Meadow Trail from Polebridge Ranger Station, head Northeast towards Glacier Drive and turn right. In 2.6 miles, turn right onto North Folk Road. Keep your eyes on the forest as Hidden Meadow Trail is easy to miss!

The name of Hidden Meadow Trail gives you a hint that it is tucked away and may be hard to spot. While driving from Polebridge Ranger Station, 3.0mi South, in the brush, is where you will find the trailhead for Hidden Meadow.
Walking through the forest, you will see the effects of a wildfire that burned the forest 25 years ago. Old, lifeless trees stand tall like a stick and young prosperous trees climb beneath them. The hike is one path and is a short but beautiful trail and will lead you to a large pond at 1.2mi. This pond is known for its moose and other wildlife activity so it is a great place to relax and have a snack and wait with anticipation. This is an out-and back-trail, so when you are ready, head back the same way that you came.
