Young Gulch Hike Description
The Young Gulch Trail is an epic adventure perfect for several types of outdoor enthusiasts. Hike it, bike it, snowshoe it or cross-country ski, the path can be enjoyed year-round in a multitude of ways. Whether you decide to adventure this route in the summer or the winter, you will be granted awe-inspiring views of the surrounding mountain wilderness. Ensure to check the forecast prior to your excursion to avoid getting caught in inclement weather along the exposed trail.
Begin your journey along the Young Gulch Trail from the trailhead. Track south along the Young Gulch Trail as it follows the curves of Young Gulch Creek. Travel through the meadowlands and enjoy the fantastic views. Continue hiking the route and cross the several log bridges as it intersects with the creek on multiple occasions. Trek up the route through the burn and beneath the tree coverage. Traverse the well-marked trail and you will know when you’ve met your turnaround point.
Signposted and underneath the tree shade, you will encounter your end point. Here, turn around and retrace your steps back to the car park. Note: if you complete this trail in the colder month, micro spikes are recommended to navigate the slippery, rocky terrain.
