Dog Mountain Trail Description
The Dog Mountain Trail is a lightly trafficked out-and-back hiking route just northeast of Hope that climbs up the slopes of the mountain along an overgrown trail. Along the route you will pass some charming stretches of forest and visit a small waterfall before climbing further uphill for some nice views overlooking the Fraser Valley. The low levels of foot traffic and overgrown nature of the trail make this a popular route with dog walkers, as they are able to utilize it off-leash and fully explore the area. Make sure to bring proper hiking footwear and possibly hiking poles as the route is steep, packing 2694ft of elevation gain into five kilometres of trail. We recommend carefully following your GPS route when the trail becomes difficult to make out.
