Chadsey Lake Trail Description

The Chadsey Lake Trail is a popular hiking route near Abbotsford in the Fraser Valley that passes through a beautiful stretch of West Coast forest on the way to the peaceful waters of Chadsey Lake. This trail can be fairly muddy/wet depending on the time of year, so come prepared with proper hiking footwear in order to comfortably traverse any unfavourable terrain. Additionally, the area can be extremely buggy during warmer months. Pack bug spray and properly cover exposed skin to avoid being bitten while out on the trail. This is a great hike up to a scenic lake that offers access to a solid network of trails within the vicinity. Bring a GPS or trail map to stay on the right path.

Setting out from the trailhead, follow the Centennial Trail as it winds through the forest and crosses over Wades Creek. From here, the trail will gain elevation as you make your way towards Chadsey Lake. The near-constant tree cover provides a good amount of shade, making this hike perfect for a hot day. When you eventually arrive at the lake, take some time to explore the area while looking out over its peaceful wooded shores or test out the calm water by jumping in for a quick swim. When you’ve spent enough time at Chadsey Lake, make your way back down the forested trail to return to your vehicle.
