Hurlstone Point and Selworthy Beacon Trail Description

The Hurlstone Point and Selworthy Beacon Walk is a popular trail in the Minehead area of Exmoor National Park, thanks to its undulating but relatively easy to traverse terrain, as well as its stunning views across the Bristol Channel. Make sure that you wear some proper walking boots for this adventure, as you will be ascending and descending a series of hills in the area. Additionally, it is fairly exposed along the coast, so a windproof jacket or extra jumper is advised to keep the elements at bay.

Setting out from the trailhead, you will head to the northwest and immediately begin climbing uphill to reach the summit of Selworthy Beacon. After taking in the views of the surrounding landscape, continue on to the northwest to reach Hurlstone Point with its spectacular views across the channel towards South Wales. From here, you will head to the southeast and traverse the rugged terrain along Bossington Hill, passing through a peaceful stretch of forest along the slope of the hill until you arrive back at the trailhead where you started your journey.
