Green Mountain via Amphitheater Hike Description

Lace-up those sturdy hiking boots and pack plenty of water for your trek along the Green Mountain via Amphitheater Hike. We love a good challenge, and if you are anything like us, then you do too. Though demanding in sections, the Green Mountain via Amphitheater Hike is a stimulating and exciting adventure up to the summit. Let the technical terrain and wonderful scenery distract you as you climb up the mountain. Reserved for experienced hikers and daring explorers, this path is best hiked in the summer. When the snow starts to fall the path can become dangerous, so if you are motivated to hike in the off-season make sure to strap on some microspikes and bring trekking poles!

Embark on your adventure along the Green Mountain via Amphitheater Trail from the Meadow Trailhead. From here follow the Meadow Trail southwest through luxuriant grasslands that reveal epic views of the looming peak. Follow this path until the trail’s end where it will converge with the Baseline Trail before confronting an intersection. Here, turn left and you will be diverted beneath the treeline on the Amphitheatre Trail. Now climbing up the northeastern flank of Green Mountain, the terrain will become increasingly steep and challenging. At the next junction, hook onto the Saddle Rock Trail.

Briefly hike along the Saddle Rock Trail before turning left onto the E.M Greenman Trail. This route will guide adventurers all the way up to the summit of Green Mountain. From the peak, revel in the views of the Front Range snow-capped peaks that line the horizon in the west, and the sights of the cityscape in the east. When you are done admiring the views, retrace your footing along the path back to the trailhead.
