Boy Scout Loop Trail Description

The Boy Scout Loop Trail is a wonderful hike suitable for adventurers of almost all abilities and skill levels. Revealing wonderful vistas of the Boulder cityscape and the surrounding foothills, this stimulating hike packs a punch. Short and sweet, this is a great lunchtime escape into the fresh air. Make sure to pack plenty of water and head out in the early morning in the summer months to beat the heat.

Embark on your excursion along the Boy Scout Loop Hike from the trailhead at the end of the Flagstaff Summit Road. From here, take the rightmost Boy Scout Trail, hiking along a path that weaves through forestlands and meadowlands. Eventually, you will meet an intersection. Here, veer right, and you will be diverted onto the May’s Point Trail which reveals wonderful views of the foothills.

Revel in the stunning scenery from here, then when you are ready backtrack along the route, taking the rightmost Boy Scout Trail. Hike along this path, merging onto the Ute Trail then Flagstaff Trail. At the intersection with Flagstaff Summit Road, turn left and walk along the shoulder of the road briefly and you will be led back to the trailhead.
