Pulpit Rock Lookout Trail Description
The Pulpit Rock Lookout gives quite an impressive vista of the Black Canyon. Situated on the ledge of the Black Canyon, you will get 180-degree views of the surrounding Wilderness. In the south the cliffs that flank the Gunnison River are smoother and dotted with lush aspen trees. In the north the craggy cliffs are rough with prominent hoodoos and granite spires. This lookout is very beautiful and a perfect pit stop along the South Rim Road.
From the parking lot, take the Pulpit Rock Trail to the lookout. Note the picnic area near the carpark is a scenic spot to eat your lunch. After revelling in the scenery, retrace your steps back to the parking lot.
