Meridian Hike Description
The Meridian Hike is a quintessential forestland adventure. This path demands stamina as you gradually ascend the trail towards Rosedale Peak; it’s a butt burner! If you are seeking a walk through the dense woodlands, then the Meridian Hike is for you! Note that you will be climbing for the entirety of the hike, so back plenty of water and snacks to refuel! Note the road up to the trailhead is rough and rugged, so a vehicle with high ground clearance and four-wheel drive is recommended.
Departing from the trailhead, track the Meridian Trail north. This path will guide you below tree shade as you hike through the aspen grove. If you venture this route in the fall, you will be rewarded with stunning sights of the orange and vibrant yellow aspens towering above. Ascend the trail, taking breaks as needed. Eventually, hikers will encounter a junction; this is an ideal turnaround point for those who are already tired. If you still have some gas left in the tank, veer left, and you will be diverted up the Cub Creek Trail. This path will guide you around the base of Rosedale Peak. If you are feeling adventurous, blaze your own path up to the summit.
Rest and recharge before beginning your return. When you are ready, retrace your steps down the route back to the trailhead.
