Allen Banks Walk Description
If you are looking to escape the chaos of the outside world, slow down, and reconnect with nature, the Allen Banks Walk is the perfect route to do so. Created as a wilderness garden in the Victorian Era, you will surely find some peace and quiet on this relaxing stroll.
Setting out from the trailhead, you will pick up the footpath leading south and follow it into the dense cover of the woods. Here, you will make your way along the charming banks of the River Allen, taking some time to appreciate the peaceful nature of the riverside setting.
Continuing on to the south, you will follow along the water’s edge as it snakes through the forest, eventually reaching a crossing that will lead you to the opposite bank of the river to access a picnic area. After pausing for a brief rest, head back over the river and make your way to the north, re-living the lovely forest scenery on the return to the trailhead where you began your adventure.
