The Berwick Walls Walk is a great adventure in Northumberland that will take you along the town walls of Berwick upon Tweed. While out walking the trail, you will make your way towards the historic centre of the town, where you will be able to explore the fortifications that were constructed in the early 14th Century by King Edward I. This fun walking route through the city is perfectly suitable for all ages and skill levels.

If you have been on tour in Northumberland and are a bit tired from all of the longer walks through the countryside and nearby hills, why not give yourself a bit of a break with a nice urban adventure on the Berwick Walls Walk.
Setting out from the trailhead near the Berwick upon Tweed railway station, you will make your way to the east in order to loop around the Magdalene Fields Golf Club, before heading south towards the town of Berwick upon Tweed. Here, you will follow a path that encircles the historic centre of the town along a series of fortifications that were built by King Edward I after he captured Berwick from the Scots.
After looping around the town and enjoying the scenic views along the River Tweed, you can make a detour into the centre of town to explore the shops, cafes, and restaurants, before making your way back towards the railway station on the return leg of the journey back to the trailhead where you started.
