Humpback Mountain Trail Description

Humpback Mountain is a great viewpoint over Lake Annette, Silver Peak, and the surrounding part of the national forest. While the hike is fairly steep and a touch technical, it’s not too long. Bring bug spray for this trail.

The hike begins from the forest service road, heading north to wrap around the base of the mountain. Just as you round the curve, look for a trail on your right that heads directly up the ridge. You’ll climb a steep, straight trail with no reprieve right to the summit.

Near the top, there is a light scramble required, but it’s not very difficult to complete. You’ll follow the same trail back down, perhaps stopping to look for quartz near the base of the mountain.
