Kilburn White Horse Circular Walk Description
Featuring the iconic Kilburn White Horse – the largest and most northern of England’s hillside carvings – the Kilburn White Horse Circular Walk is a super easy adventure that can be enjoyed by the entire family. While there is one steep climb initially, the stunning views and downhill portions of trail more than make up for the minimal amount of required effort.
Setting out from the car park, you will head to the north and immediately begin to climb up the hillside while being greeted with the impressive sight of the Kilburn White Horse. Carved into the chalky hillside in 1857, this iconic monument has been a favourite landmark ever since, with people travelling from far and wide to check it out.
From the top of the hill, you will continue to the north and enjoy some sweeping views across the surrounding landscape as you work around the edge of an airfield. After descending the hillside, you will turn to the south and make your way through Hood Grange Wood, relaxing in the peaceful woodland setting as you make your way back to the car park where you began your adventure.
