Route Description for Jamestown
The road bike ride to Jamestown takes some of the best parts of Left Hand Canyon and continues up to a sleepy mountain town nestled in the heart of the mountains. The bike ride begins in the flats of Boulder Valley along Left Hand Canyon Dr., a newly paved road with a nice wide shoulder. Left Hand Canyon gradually climbs out of Boulder Valley along a curvy canyon road that follows the path carved out by Left Hand Creek. You will be surrounded by tree covered mountains as you ride through sections of the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forest.
The road becomes steeper as you continue to climb towards Jamestown. At a junction in the road, turn onto James Canyon Dr. This scenic road follows along Little James Creek, and becomes steeper the closer you get to Jamestown. As you ride into Jamestown, you will cycle down the main street with the Jamestown Mercantile being the traditional stopping point. Turn around and head back down the canyon the way you came.
