Ribblehead Circular Walk Description

Featuring lovely views of the surrounding valley landscape, as well as the two highest peaks in the Yorkshire Dales – Whernside and Ingleborough – the Ribblehead Circular Walk is a great excursion that will get the entire family out on the trails for some exercise and to enjoy the natural beauty of the English countryside.

Setting out from the car park, you will make your way to the northwest to pass by the magnificently arched Ribblehead Viaduct, following along the rail line as it leads you in the direction of Whernside. Taking a junction on the left, you will climb gently up the hillside along Winterscale Beck, following the trail as it heads to the southwest under the shadow of the mountain.

Enjoy the scenic views across the valley, before turning to the southwest to follow along Philpin Lane. Eventually, you will turn back to the northeast, cutting across the open countryside and passing underneath the Ribblehead Viaduct on the return to the car park.
