Grassington Walk

The Grassington Walk has some moderate gradients and provides some steps and stiles to maneuver. Ensure you wear proper footwear to be able to navigate this terrain. There are also areas of this path that can get quite muddy after heavy rain, so if you are walking this route during this time, make sure you have high wellies.

This walk boasts beautiful views of the English countryside and is a great path for dogs. This path has many meadows and pastures, so it is quite possible that you will be walking alongside cattle and sheep as they graze in the open fields.

Beginning at the Grassington National Park car park, walk towards the overspill area, where you will find a wooden gate with a sign for Linton Falls. Follow the footpath to the bridge that rests over the falls and turn left at the sign for Hebden And Burnsall, which follows the grassy path along the river.

Pass through the gaps in the walls and go through a gate at the top of a set of steps. Wander along the road, and after passing farm buildings, turn into a track and you will be able to see the river again. You will see a small wooden gate, which you will pass through, and then follow the Dales Way path that leads towards Burnsall. Through this area you may spot sheep grazing in the fields. Coming up a wooden footbridge, you will cross over beck and continue along the path beside the river, which will take you through multiple gates. With views of the Dales in the distance, you will cross another bridge over the river and head left towards houses. Passing through a gate, turn right onto Mill Lane and cross Hebden Beck. Turn left right away to follow the Hebden and Bank Top footpath.

You will then pass houses and gardens and take a gate that will lead you through the woodlands. Another gate will bring you to a field that has a wooden footpath sign that leads towards Hebden. Walk across a footbridge to the waterfall. Crossing through a kissing gate, you will head into the trees as you walk uphill. Follow the path to a gap in the stone wall and walk up the steps and across the bridge that rests over the beck. Turn left, and you will see a house with free roaming chickens. Walking along, you will reach a cattle grid, turn left on the road and head into the village of Hebden.

Pass the Clarendon Hotel and follow the footpath to Grassington via High Lane, and turn right down the track, pass through multiple gaps in the stone and head across the field, making your way to the trees. Take the Grassington Park Estate Meadows and follow steps down to a road. Cross the road and head up the other set of steps. Continue to follow the marked path and look for the yellow bank ahead. Follow the sign across the field and look for the yellow markers and follow them.

These markers take you back to the car park where you began, as this is a circuit walk.
