The Hike to Conflict and Ring Lakes is a 11.1mi out-and-back trail with a nice variation of woodland and alpine terrain. The route passes through Callaghan Lake Provincial Park and climbs through the forest before breaking into a scenic alpine meadow. From here, hikers will make their way to Conflict Lake before the tough uphill climb to Ring Lake. This is an amazing, if rugged, route that will allow you to disconnect from the rest of the world and blend in with the natural wilderness around Whistler.
Getting there
To reach the trailhead for the Hike to Conflict and Ring Lakes from Whistler, drive southeast on BC-99 S and turn right onto Callaghan Road, following it for 6.0mi. Turn left onto the road just before the bend, and keep left along the gravel road when you reach a fork. Continue straight along this road until you reach the parking area at Callaghan Lake.

The Hike to Conflict and Ring Lakes is a difficult out-and-back trail west of Whistler that passes through the beautiful forests and meadows of Callaghan Lake Provincial Park. Experience hiking through the scenic alpine landscape on the way to the peaceful waters of Conflict Lake before making the tough uphill climb to Ring Lake. This portion of the trail shouldn’t be underestimated, but you can take solace in knowing that after the demanding uphill journey, you can descend along the beautiful trail amongst scenic mountain views and meadows full of wildflowers. This backcountry hike is beautiful but also rugged, so don’t plan on keeping your boots clean as you traverse the often muddy trail.
