The Tipsoo Peak Trail is a wonderful hiking route in Oregon that offers breathtaking views overlooking Umpqua National Forest. While out on the trail, you will steadily climb through the forest, before pushing uphill through some rocky terrain to the panoramic summit viewpoint. Be sure to bring plenty of bug spray, as there are usually a fair amount of mosquitos along this trail.
Getting there
The trailhead for the Tipsoo Peak Trail can be found on NF-100, just 2.3mi east of the junction with NF-200.

Tipsoo Peak Trail Description
For those who aren’t afraid to put a bit of hard work in for spectacular mountain top views, the Tipsoo Peak Trail will be the perfect route to explore in Umpqua National Forest.
Setting out from the trailhead on NF-100, you will make your way to the east along a winding trail through the forest. While there will likely be plenty of bugs along the trail, try to put them out of your mind and enjoy the peaceful forest atmosphere on your uphill climb.
Eventually, you will break free of the tree cover and traverse some rocky terrain on the push up to the summit of Tipsoo Peak. From the top of the mountain, you will enjoy incredible views that extend out across the picturesque landscape of Umpqua National Forest. After taking some time to appreciate the views, carefully head back down the same trail to return to your vehicle below.
