The Soda Springs Trail is a short adventure in Umpqua National Forest that leads you through the forest landscape to a series of natural springs. While out on the trail, you will steadily gain elevation, enjoying the views of the surrounding Pacific Northwest landscape before arriving at the site of the bubbling Soda Springs. Try to time your hike for the spring, when there will be plenty of butterflies along the trail and the springs will be more present.

Soda Springs Trail Description

Despite its short length, the Soda Springs Trail is a great little adventure in Umpqua National Forest that offers nice views and will get your heart pumping. Sections of the trail are a bit overgrown and the trailhead itself can be tricky to find, so be sure to bring a map/GPS and look for the large green pipe, as the trail begins just behind it!

Setting out from the trailhead, you will make your way to the northeast, taking in the natural beauty of your woodland surroundings as you gain a small amount of elevation. In no time, you will arrive at the site of the Soda Springs, which are much more active earlier on in the season. After exploring the area and investigating the bubbling natural springs, simply head back along the same route to return to the trailhead.
