Willard Creek Waterfall Trail Description
The Willard Creek Waterfall Trail is a fantastic hike in the western Uinta Wilderness. This is a difficult trail that should be attempted by experienced hikers only. The route to the waterfall does not follow a well-maintained or well-established path. Hikers need to be able to scramble their way up a steep climb and travel over rugged terrain. Proper, supportive hiking footwear is a must on this route, and we suggest downloading a map ahead of time to aid in navigation. The views along this route and the waterfalls themselves are more than worth the effort. The Willard Creek Waterfalls themselves are most impressive in the spring when the water charges forth, and in the winter when the falls transform into frozen formations of water trapped in time.
To hike the Willard Creek Waterfall Trail, start at the trailhead along Haul road and cross over to the north bank of Willard Creek. Follow the creek eastward, then scramble your way up to the falls.
Enjoy your time at the Willard Creek Waterfalls. When you are ready to head home, turn around and retrace your steps to the trailhead where you began.
