Box Elder Creek Trail Description

The Box Elder Creek Trail is a gorgeous hike in the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest. This is a multi-use trail accessible to horseback riders, day-hikers, and mountain bikers. When hiking, be sure to remain aware of your surroundings and let folks (and horses) pass you by. If you are hiking with a dog, keep an eye out for horses and forest wildlife, and be sure to bring a leash along with you in case of animal encounters. With stunning views the whole way, the Box Elder Creek Trail is a wonderful route that makes a fantastic family outing. For an especially spectacular experience, we suggest hiking this trail in the fall when the surrounding forest brims with the fiery colors of autumn leaves.

Beginning on the west side of Willard Peak Road, follow the trail west to hike to loop counterclockwise. Follow the path as it crosses over two streams, then traces the bank of Box Elder Creek back to the trailhead where you began.
