Weir Lake Trail Description

The Weir Lake Trail is a beautiful route in the Uinta Lake Country. This trail can get quite buggy in the early summer. If you are hiking in June or July, be sure to bring some bug repellent or wear long layers to deter the mosquitoes. Mosquitoes aren’t the only critters you’ll see on your hike; the Weir Lake Trail is a great route to see forest wildlife such as waterfowl, deer, and moose. If you are hiking with a pup, be sure to keep an eye out for wild animals and keep a leash on hand in case you encounter wildlife along the trail.

To hike to Weir Lake, begin at the Crystal Lake Trailhead and take the Lakes Country Trail 216 to head west. Approximately 1.4mi in, the trail will fork, take the middle path. Follow this path along the shore of Long Lake and the bank of the North Fork of the Provo River down to Weir Lake.

Enjoy a rest on the shores of Weir Lake, and, if you’re feeling adventurous, go for a dip in the frigid waters before heading back to the trailhead the way you came.
