The 20 Lakes Trail Description
The 20 Lakes Trail is a super fun route in the western Uintas. This circuit connects a series of established trails to make one big loop through Lake Country. As a result, this hike does require some route finding as you make your way from one established trail to the next. If you are not experienced in route finding, we recommend printing or downloading a map before hitting the trail. With over 20 lakes along the loop, the 20 Lakes Trail is truly incredible. This dog-friendly trail is a fantastic way to spend the day exploring the Utah wilderness with your family and friends.
To hike the 20 Lakes Trail, begin at the Crystal Lake Trailhead and take the Lakes Country Trail 216 to head west; this will take you around the 20 Lakes circuit counter-clockwise. On the north shore of Crystal Lake, take the Clyde Lake Trail on your right to head north past a series of lakes to Clyde Lake. At Clyde Lake, follow the west shore and stick to the trail on your left to head northwest past another series of lakes to Hidden Lake. After visiting Hidden Lake, head east, then take the first trail on your right to follow the Notch Mountain Trail down to Wall Lake. At Wall Lake, take the second trail on your left to head back south to the Crystal Lake Trailhead, where you began.
