Notch Mountain via Trial Lake Description

The Notch Mountain Trail via Trial Lake is a fantastic hike. However, this route can be buggy in the early summer. If you are hiking in June or July, bring bug spray or wear long layers to combat the mosquitoes. As this is a point-to-point hike, be sure to have a shuttle planned before you embark on your adventure. With incredible views and diverse terrain, the hike from Trial Lake along the Notch Mountain Trail is a fantastic way to spend the day immersed in the beauty of the Utah wilderness.

Beginning at the Trial Lake Campground, follow the path along the western shore of Trial Lake up to Wall Lake. At Wall Lake, take the path on your right and stay right at the next divide to head north around Notch Mountain. At the next divide in the trail, you can take the path on your left to do a short out-and-back to Meadow Lake before continuing to circle around Notch Mountain down to the Bald Mountain Trailhead.

The Bald Mountain Trailhead marks the end of this hike; from here, you can either catch a shuttle home or make your way back to the Trial Lake Campground for a restful night under the Utah stars.
