This hike begins at Hoop Lake on the south side of Hoop Lake Road in the eastern Uinta wilderness area.

Kabell Lake Trail Description
The hike to Kabell Lake is a low traffic trail in the eastern Uintas near the Utah-Wyoming border. This trail is not well maintained and hikers should arrive with route-finding experience and an adventurous attitude. We recommend downloading or printing out a map ahead of time, and bringing a GPS unit if you have one. If you are looking for an adventurous day in the Uinta wilderness with a stunning, secluded alpine destination, the Kabell Lake Trail is the hike for you.
Beginning at Hoop Lake, follow the Kabell Lake Trail southeast. Stay right where the trail divides to make your way to Kabell Lake.
Enjoy your time fishing, swimming, or camping on the shores of Kabell Lake. When you are ready to head home, simply retrace your steps back to Hoop Lake, where you began.
