Fran Lake Trail Description
The Fran Lake Trail is a beautiful hike in the Western Uintas. This trail is moderately challenging with a consistent incline up to Fran Lake. Be sure to arrive with proper, supportive hiking shoes and lots of water for your hike. If you’d like some extra support, hiking poles can be great on this trail to aid in the ascent and save your knees some strain on the way back down. Fran Lake itself is a gorgeous, pristine alpine lake tucked away in the Utah Wilderness. This is a great spot to swim, fish, or just spend the day relaxing in a beautiful place.
Beginning at the trailhead, take the Gardeners Fork 4×4 Trail on the northwest bank of Garden Creek. Follow this trail south all the way to Fran Lake.
Enjoy an afternoon relaxing on the shores of Fran Lake. Then, when you are ready to head home, retrace your steps back to the trailhead, where you began.
