Douglas Spring, Converse, and Wildhorse Loop Descripton

The Douglas Spring, Converse, and Wildhorse Loop explores the northern edge of Tucson’s Saguaro National Park East. This park is a favorite for hikers in Tucson for its higher-elevation trails (in comparison to Saguaro National Park West) and classic desert views. This loop is great for beginners and families. It also can be easily customized using the network of connected trails should you want a longer or shorter route.

There is a small fee required to use the trails of the park and dogs are not permitted. Bring water with you and try to get your hike in before the heat of the day hits. If you’re unfamiliar with this area, a downloaded GPS track can be helpful for finding your way.

From the trailhead, take Douglas Spring Trail to the sharp right turn onto Converse Trail. Continue onto Garwood Trail and then keep left. Keep left again, then go right into Wildhorse Trail. Follow Wildhorse Trail south to the sharp right turn onto the stock bypass route, which will lead you back to Douglas Spring Trail to return to the trailhead.
