Blà Bheinn Walk Description

The Blà Bheinn Walk may be steep, challenging, and rough technically in some areas, but the views of the Cuillin and Glen Sligachan from atop the summit will have you forgetting all about the pain experienced moments ago! Do note that there is some minor scrambling, so come prepared. Lastly, if you’re attempting this walk in winter, rock the proper equipment and brush up on winter walking tips before you go. We recommend only experienced hillwalkers tackle this route during the snowy months.

From the car park, go to the far end to reach the path going gradually up the moor towards a gorge. Look for Allt na Dunaiche carving a scenic image through the gorge! You’ll then cross a couple of streams before the path veers sharply to the right towards Fionna-choire. If you reach a massive boulder, you’ve gone too far! Start zigzagging up the slopes, ensuring to stay left when it looks like the path heads right to go over some boulders. Get ready for the steepest and one of the more technical parts of the ascent! Continue heading up, taking on a small scramble before reaching the summit, where fantastic views await.

After soaking the scenery, turn around and head back the way you came. We recommend bringing a GPS on this walk as some turns may have you confused!
