Estuary Trail Description

The Estuary Trail is a scenic hike through the Skwelwil’em Squamish Estuary Wildlife Management Area that offers beautiful views over the wetland landscape as well as the nearby mountain peaks across the Squamish River. Hikers along the trail will be able to see all sorts of wildlife ranging from various bird species to black bears. Because of this, hikers should make sure to travel in groups and bring bear spray when out on this hiking route.

The trail itself is made up of very flat terrain and is paved in order to provide accessibility to families with strollers and persons with limited mobility, making it the perfect route for hikers of all ages and skill levels. Views along the trail are picturesque and sweep across the flat landscape only to be interrupted by the rugged mountains that frame the Squamish Valley, such as the iconic Stawamus Chief to the southeast. This short trek is an easy outing to fill a few spare hours if you are in the Squamish area.
