Kipling Roedean and Rottingdean Walk Description

The Kipling Roedean and Rottingdean Walk is a stunning mix of views from the English countryside to the sparkling ocean in the distance. This area is known for its literary history featuring Rudyard Kipling, who was once a resident, and is said to have used the South Downs as inspiration for some of his best poetry. Beginning at the car park, you will, early on, catch glimpses of the sea, and as you continue, you will see the concrete path that, to one side, has the white chalk cliffs towering over and to the other is the aqua blue ocean. Along this area, you can walk onto small areas of the beach, which many people enjoy swimming around in the summer months. You will begin to ascend a small amount and will walk past a bunch of shops, pubs and old flint cottages.

As you move on, you will see a number of attractions along the way, such as Beacon Hill and the village windmill and then onto more views of the ocean and the village of Rottingdean. You will see Brighton Pier in the distance and walk down a fairly steep hill after more walking. Continue on, and you will reach the car park where you began.
