To get to the Amberley Wild Brooks and Bignor Roman Villa Walk from Arundel, follow Maltravers Street to Chichester Road/A27, and in 6.8mi, turn left. Follow B2139 to Mill Lane in Amberley and turn right onto Mill Lane, where you will arrive at your destination.

Amberley Wild Brooks and Bignor Roman Villa Walk Description

The Amberley Wild Brooks and Bignor Roman Villa Walk is a wonderful stroll in South Downs National Park. Explore the history, wildlife and stunning views that this area offers. Beginning at the George and Dragon pub, where King Charles II 1651 when he was fleeing the country, continue to follow the path. This pub is from the 13th century and is a great place to stop before or after your walk. Following the path, you will come across the River Arun and cross a footbridge. As you continue, you will walk through Amberley and into the woodlands. Passing Bignor and the Roman villa, which was excavated and put on display, you will come back around to the George and Dragon pub, as this is a circular walk.
